Tampa, FL - Plummer Associates, Inc. (Plummer), a water engineering firm headquartered in Texas, has announced its continued growth into Florida through the acquisition of WATERMARK Engineering Group, a Tampa-based integrated water resource engineering firm.
“We are excited to combine the engineering capabilities, superior technical expertise and established experience of these two successful firms to serve the Florida water resources market,” said Chris Young, PE, CEO of Plummer. “WATERMARK brings an established 18 years of Florida experience in integrated water management to add to Plummer’s 44-year reputation for technical innovation and engineering excellence that has produced award-winning projects. The combined capabilities of these firms will establish an unmatched level of technical capabilities for Florida’s diverse needs for water supply, stormwater management, natural systems engineering, coastal engineering and water and wastewater infrastructure improvements. The acquisition of WATERMARK follows Plummer’s national growth strategy, while preserving the culture of client service, staff development and employee ownership,” Young added.
Plummer recently opened a new office in downtown Tampa, led by John Keane, PE, PMP, ENV SP, who serves as the Florida Area Leader. Keane oversees the firm’s development and operations activities in the state. “Plummer is recognized as a technical innovator and leader in the water and environmental industry,” said Keane. “With the Plummer/WATERMARK team, we have strengthened our bench to provide quality-based engineering services for our Florida clients.”
“The Plummer/WATERMARK Team will better serve our current clients with responsive service while strengthening our technical capabilities throughout Florida to serve new clients,” said Mark Flint, PE, founder and President of WATERMARK. Plummer/WATERMARK’s integrated engineering expertise aligns well with the ‘One Water Florida’ concept, which advocates for Florida's continued economic prosperity through strategic conservation and management of statewide water resources.
Plummer’s 2021 revenues exceeded $36 million, and it currently has 11 offices in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Florida. WATERMARK Engineering Group’s staff will remain based in the Tampa area.
