City of Northglenn
Northglenn, Colorado
United States
Plummer recently competed the design of a new wastewater treatment system lift station for the City of Northglenn. The City has several existing lift stations, but consistent growth within their area necessitated the siting of a new station with a force main to serve additional customers while maintaining service to existing homes.
Plummer assisted the Conveyance Team by performing the electrical, instrumentation and controls (EI&C) design for the new lift station which included the electrical power load modeling, sizing and design of the new480-volt electrical power system, the design on the backup generator system and automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), electrical support for HVAC loads and the instrumentation and controls design for the facilities as well as integration with the City’s radio communications system. Plummer performed power calculations on distribution feeders and prepared the plans and specifications for the electrical system to meet equipment upgrades. Plummer also designed and developed the process and instrumentation diagrams as well as the control panel and riser drawings. Plummer also integrated the channel grinder and pump control panels into the overall control panel design.
The EI&C Team developed the input/output lists and control strategies; selected instruments; and coordinated the PLC memory maps for vendor-furnished PLCs.
Plummer is currently working on an expansion to the Brushy Creek East Wastewater Treatment...
The City of Round Rock operates a licensed radio-based telemetry system that consists of over 45 sites that monitor both the water distribution system and wastewater collection system sites.
